Beautiful South Florida Wedding Receptions
It`s not unusual for guests to go several hours without a meal or skip a meal entirely before attending a wedding. Personal preparation, wrapping gifts, picking up guests at the airport and finding baby sitters are just some examples of how this happens. Wedding menus should be heartier than many people think!
When arriving at the reception, the first thing many guests will do after picking up their seating assignment is look for the bar. This is the cocktail hour, this may also be the time for the introductions of the wedding party, the first dance and the toast. If food service is not provided in this time period, guests may be drinking on an empty stomach and the results may adversely affect your reception. Hors D`oeuvres are not only a nice touch to your wedding they take the "edge" off the hungry and they may slow down the assimilation of alcohol.
The wedding menu should be based on what is good for the majority of your guests, you and your new spouse are the host and hostess for the first time as married people. The menu that you choose should reflect your tastes to the extent that your guests needs come first. An extreme example of this is that you are a non-Jewish person who loves pork products, but you are the Office Manager for a Jewish high school, and you have invited many of your Jewish coworkers who do not eat pork. There are plenty of alternate menus that you could look at that will make everyone happy, including vegetarians.
The foods that you choose for your reception should also take into account the apparel of your guests, and the location of your reception. Dropping an Italian meatball on a pretty white dress could be a disaster to a guest (or the bride). It`s easier to blot out a cream sauce than a red sauce. Breaking a real glass on a patio with a swimming pool could hurt someone at a later time. Common sense can help you choose your menu.
On our Custom catering Menu pages, you will see hundreds of possible menu combinations. Menu changes are accepted until fourteen days from your reception.
